The book tells of the two-, three, four-, and five-mast schooners, the carriers of the heavy coal and lumber cargoes, and of the few remaining square-riggers which occasionally were seen during this period. Also the Brava Packets, little sailing passenger ships and a chapter is devoted to the last of the Grand Bankers, the great fishing schooners of yesteryear.
