Four full page colour plates and black and white text illustrations throughout by Arthur Rackham. Title page heavily foxed and some foxing in places throughout. Coloured enpapers by Arthur Rackham. Publishers coloured card covers, bottom corner of front cover very slightly rubbed away, some slight age toning, else very good bright copy.Dustwrapper is yellowed to front panel and spine, rear panel is dusty and generally marked, some rubbing and fraying to the top and bottom of spine, short tear to the top edge of rear panel (no loss). Still a good copy in complete dustwrapper, not price clipped. Scarce first edition. Colour plates and black and white text illustrations by Arthur Rackham. (illustrator).

    Hardcover. Condition: Poor. Second Edition. Rear cover is detached but present. Front spine edge is mostly split. Spine has heavy wear to the upper end, wear to the lower end. Slight wear to the outer corners. One plate, Plymouth, has been heavily creased down the center from top to bottom. The lower 2 3/8" of the crease, approximately, has been split, which just touches the image itself. Plates have varying amounts of marginal foxing. The reverse of the plates and the adjacent pages are foxed. ; Twelve plates engraved by Thomas Lupton from original drawings made expressly for this work by J. M. W. Turner. Three-quarter leather binding in red. Illustrated by Turner, J. M. W. (illustrator).

    1/4 leather. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. A lovely copy of the 1856 1st edition, bound in publisher's half-leather over olive-green boards. Gilt-lettered and bordered leather title label affixed to the front panel. 5 raised bands, detailed gilt-tooling within each compartment. Tight and VG, with very light scuffing to the panels and light wear along the outer hinges and at the spine base. Very interesting bookplate ("Frank Cyril Tiarks") to the front pastedown. The 12 magnificent engravings (executed by Thomas Lupton) are in pristine condition and each is accompanied by its original tissue-guard. Folio, all edges gilt. J.M.W. Turner (illustrator).
