Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Hardcover with DJ. Black cloth spine, black paper over boards. Distinctive red-bordered DJ with gold lettering. Binding good and tight. On the back cover, the black cloth of the spine is faded a half tone lighter than the top half. On the DJ, there is a very slight tan tone visible on part of the white barcode. The inside of the DJ has evidence of a splash of liquid at the bottom of the spine, too -- our best guess is that the book got a slosh of tea on its corner after the DJ and mylar cover were already in place -- there is no damage visible unless you go searching around for it beneath and behind the DJ. A couple speckles on the top foreedge. No date on the title page. Copyright page dated 1989. Stated first American edition, with full number line 1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2. Signed on the title page by Salman Rushdie in black marker. Just his name; no date or inscription. 546 pages. Photos show this actual copy. Signed by Author(s).
