Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Abingdon Press, New York. 1931. Hardcover. Stated 8th Printing. Signed by the author on the FFFP. Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for a faint church stamp on the FFFP. Book Condition: Very Good +; slight wear to head, tail, and tips; light sunfading to spine and a portion of the rear board near the spine. Clean internals; interior hinges are sound and not split. 186 pp 16mo. This is a book about the phrases a person uses every day which sound profound and make the person appear to have great wisdom, but they are truly manipulators of second-hand conversational equipment who know little of what they speak about. The author pours "acid" on some of the popular phrases which have gained a certain sanctity such as Love is Blind, Practice What You Preach, Two and Two Make Four, and disproves their validity. A clean very presentable copy. Signed by Author(s).
