Bound in the original blue cloth with elaborate black stamped decoration and gilt title to the front board. Boards show noticeable wear including rubbing to edges and corners, fading to the cloth, and light fraying at the spine ends. Gilt title remains visible though dulled. Spine is intact but shows surface wear consistent with age. Internally, pages are generally clean with age-related toning and scattered spotting. Frontispiece engraving present. Binding remains sound with no loose pages noted. A well-preserved but clearly used Victorian copy, attractive for its decorative binding and period illustrations.
