Original half linen over blue boards, with paper title labels to spine and front board. Overall a very good hardback book since it is so fine internally, and it is tight and well bound. To the outside, the covers have insignificant marks here and there, plus the spine is dust dulled with wear at the top and base of the spine. pp.viii, 43, 15 (advertisements) ten hand-coloured engravings; A facsimile of the 1815 publication Letters from France: written by a Modern Tourist.

Extra illustrated; ten tinted plates as called for, this volume contains and additional six titnted color plates , five of which represent empire period female costume; an engraving of Ludwig XVIII inserted at the frontispiece (foxing); engraved portraits of Voltaire and Rousseau; engraving of Versailles from Paris Avenue (foxing to plate and facing page). Binding worn about the edges and with a 1/2" chip at head of spine.
