Paper. Condition: Good ++. First Edition. An Original Hand Written and Signed Letter by Writer Rose Macaulay. Letter dated 1944 and discusses to a unknown recipient (inked out) about her travels to Scotland, Edinburgh and ultimately the Isle of Wight. Dame Emilie Rose Macaulay, DBE 1881-1958 was an English writer, most noted for her award-winning novel The Towers of Trebizond, about a small Anglo-Catholic group crossing Turkey by camel. The story is seen as a spiritual autobiography, reflecting her own changing and conflicting beliefs. Macaulay's novels were partly influenced by Virginia Woolf; she also wrote biographies and travelogues. Size of letter is 180mm x 138mm. Folding centre crease. More images can be taken upon request.
