Orange printed label affiixed to front board in the design of the hanging exterior sign of an Inn, stating: "FULL and BY/Being a Collection of Verses by Persons of Quality with Designs to Fit All Humours". Repeated in miniature with a little devil-caricature holding up the sign with his feet, tail swishing. A little smudging and staining to boards, and wear to corners. Front board a wee bit loose, but no separating. Publisher's red topstain; fore-edge and tail untrimmed. Orange and black endpapers featuring a quote from Hamlet, a frolicking Satan, etc. On a preliminary page (with a lovely, multicolored illustration) the and handwritten words, in turquoise ink, : "Property of/ Edw. A. Wilson/Truro, Mass.". Ilustrator's initialed ownership stamp in red to top right corner of this same page. 73 Drinking songs, many with musical notation, many just lyrics, some by the famous and well-known jpublic/literary figures (William Blake, Richard Brinsley Sheridan, Christopher Morley, Hilaire Belloc, Longfellow, Sir Walter Scott, Robert Browning, George Arnold, John Keats, Thomas Moore, Lord Byron, Oliver Goldsmith, Eugene Field, G.K. Chesterton, Tom D'Urfey John Masefield and others).
