Covers lightly scuffed, likely due to shelf wear. No lettering or illustration rendered illegible. Fore edges gilded. Roughly 10 inches tall by 7.5 inches wide. No date on title page or copyright page. xxi + 293 pages. Includes Walter Jerrold's introduction, black and white illustrations by Charles Robinson on nearly every page, beautiful, full-color frontispiece, roughly 30 other colored plates throughout text, and about 150 different fables. Light foxing to pages, primarily around edges. Most noticeable on first and last few pages, almost none at center of book. Front free endpaper features neat inscription, marking it as a gift from an aunt to a niece and dated 1936. Pages otherwise clean.
