Includes the first appearances of Jeffers' poem "Faunus" [Alberts A-8] on p. 1 under his own name and of "El Dorado" on p. 5 under his "Edwin Rush" pseudonym. Jeffers is also mentioned as one of the "new men" in athletics for long-distance running (p.15). Large 8vo (7 x 9.75") light gray-brown stapled paperwraps with art-nouveau cover design; 20 pages. Staples badly rusted causing staining to surrounding areas and the innermost leaf to have detached (it's laid in); faint offset from printer's ink to first and last pages and, more noticeably, the rear cover. Which is too bad because other than the sort of vertical crease you might see from folding to be tucked in one's pocket and the faintest of dampstaining to lower corners, overall it is relatively bright and clean. Scarce to rare. Also included is a fine copy of the 20 x 26" centennial celebration poster issued by the college featuring Jeffers' poem, "Rock and Hawk.".

[Alberts A-9]; "Nemesis" (p. 1) by "Rob York"; and "In the Garden" (p. 8) by "Edwin Rush." The latter two being attributed to Jeffers by the Robinson Jeffers Association and Jeffers scholar Robert Brophy. [Note: "Nemesis" herein is not the same as the poem appearing under that title in FLAGONS AND APPLES]. Large 8vo (7 x 9.75") light gray-brown stapled paperwraps with art-nouveau cover design; 20 pages. Staples slightly rusted, innermost leaf loose but present; light creasing from previous folding. If it weren't for some scattered stains throughout and splashes of light staining to pp.12-13, would be near fine. Even with the noted flaws, altogether about very good. Scarce to rare. First Edition. First edition. RARE 1905 GRADUATION ISSUE. Large 8vo (7 x 10") gilt-embossed heavy black envelope-style paperwraps; 112 pages, including ads. Includes the first appearance of Robinson Jeffers' poem, "The Stream" on p. 71 (preceding the October 1905 issue of Out West Magazine, which is erroneously listed as first in Alberts). Photos and mentions of Jeffers are sprinkled throughout. He makes two appearances in cap and gown; appears in group photo of Stevenson Literary Society and Track Team photo. Front cover starting, rear cover detached but present, small chips and tears to rear flap fold, 1-inch loss of paper at head of unprinted spine. Interior clean and tight, and despite the noted wear, the fragile covers are still quite attractive. There were only 18 students in the graduating class, so it seems safe to assume only a small number of copies were printed. Understandably rare. Also included is a fine copy of the 20 x 26" centennial celebration poster issued by the college featuring Jeffers' poem, "Rock and Hawk," as well as an original invitation to the June 10, 1955, "Special Recognition Service in Honor of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Graduation from Occidental College of Robinson Jeffers.".
