Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good+. First Edition First Printing. This sequel to the author's "The Angry Planet" is purportedly "a first-hand account of the second and third Martian expeditions, by the space-ships Albatross and Comet.compiled from notes & records by various members of the exploring parties made available by Stephen MacFarlane,"with illustrations throughout the 253 pages again by Robin Jacques. a First Edition, first printing from 1954, this is an Ex-Lib copy, with the usual stamps in the front matter & ffep neatly sliced out (presumably where card pocket was). Hardcover book is downgraded to only Fair due to heavy reading edge wear, expected light soil & page tanning, unmarked. The old library mylar has been removed & replaced with new. Having been protected all these years, the DJ is bright, colorful, & clean-looks lovely! Only flaw is teeny tear in center of spine, causing it to be downgraded from Near Fine to VG+.Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day. Jacques, Robin (illustrator).

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Limited edition #433 flat signed by Robin Jacques on colophon page. Hardcover in slip case. Good binding and cover. Light edge wear. Clean, unmarked pages. *Autographed by illustrator.* This is an oversized or heavy book, which requires additional postage for international delivery outside the US. Robin Jacques was born in Chelsea, London on 27 March 1920 and educated at the Royal Masonic Schools, Bushey, Hertfordshire. Self-taught as an artist, he worked as an apprentice to a firm of commercial artists before serving in Second World War, first as a gunner in the Royal Engineers, and later as a cartographer. In quiet moments, he began to combine his love of literature with his artistic talents by attempting to illustrate the books he carried with him and, on leave in London in 1944, he offered his services to the Editor of the Radio Times. Regular contributions followed over many years to both the Radio Times and the Listener, establishing him as a distinct talent and the heir to Eric Fraser. Jacques also lectured at Brighton School of Art (1947-8) and acted as art editor for the Strand magazine. Signed.
