Dust jacket lightly rubbed; flap fold heads bumped; front flap is not price-clipped; dj presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Brownish-orange cloth with bright silver stamped lettering to spine and front bo…ard; boards' top fore-edge corners bumped with several initial leaves affected likewise. Multi-colored pictorial endpapers; artist Charlie Lucas' ink signature upon front free endpaper along with two figural face sketch drawings incorporated among the page's graphic design; several other illustrative ink marks by Lucas on front endpapers all of which can be easily overlooked due to the colorful "busy-ness" of the two pages. Doty was a prolific author writing some twenty books and over seventy essays not only regarding his primary fields of myth and mythology but delving into other disciplines including anthropology, art criticism, classics, and psychology. Page iv notes that the publication of TIN MAN was made possible by the generous support of five individuals including William G. Doty and [wife] Joan T. Mallonee.
