First Edition. One of 500 copies. Quarto; illustrated card stock, spiral bound. The book plate, which is in all copies, and serves as a colophon of sorts, is inscribed "Allan Covici from Uncle Robert". Bookplate has become detached and is now laid in. Ink from Duncan's signature has transferred lightly to the half-title, one comb has broken from the binding, a light paperclip mark on the front cover, else about Fine. A lovely copy of this children's book of sorts profusely illustrated by Jess. A scarce book signed, and this to Covici who was a Berkeley librarian, noted collector and active particpant in the San Francisco gay culture of the 60's. ANACAPA A40. Signed.
