Softcover. Condition: Fine. Magazine. Octavo. 251pp. Printed wrappers. Modest edgewear else fine. Salmagundi was founded in 1965 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015. The magazine has featured critiques on literature, philosophy, and social sciences. A couple stories and essays are written by William H. Gass as well an early version of the story *The Tunnel* which was later lengthened and published into a full novel in 1995. This issue also features Cynthia Ozick's "Puttermesser and Xanthippe" which was later printed in *The Puttermesser Papers* in 1997. Other contributors include Alvin Rosenfeld, Ihab Hassan, Mary Kinzie, Leonard Nathan, Peggy Rizza, Deborah Pease, Frederick Feirstein, Edwin Honig, Jonathan Arac, Frank Kermode, Regina Janes, Russell Jacoby, and Charles Molesworth.
