Hardcover. Condition: Near fine. Near fine. First edition. Inscribed on the half-title page: "To Anders, with best wishes, Tom J Cade, Boise, Idaho, February 24, 1987." Uncommon signed. Tom Cade was an ornithologist who has been called "the father of peregrine falcon conservation" by the National Audubon Society. His name is syn…onymous with peregrines. He was a professor at Cornell and founded The Peregrine Fund in Boise, Idaho. In this book he methodically profiles the falcons of the world, and his descriptions (4-5 pages each) are accompanied by beautiful full-page portraits by R. David Digby. A quarto of about 20 pages, blue cloth with gilt lettering on spine. Very near fine with slight bumping to upper corners and spine crown. In a near fine jacket that shows that same minor bumping on its upper edges.
