Bigmore and Wyman write "up to the time of [the] publication of this work it was believed that the famous St. Christopher block was the oldest-dated engraving in existence. The author, however, discovered the St. Katherine engraving, which bears a date of 1418." (Bigmore and Wyman II, p.249). Includes a chromolithographed facsimile by printed by G. Severeyns.
