Richards, Clay, Death of an Angel, Bobbs Merrill, New York, 1963, first edition / first printing, A gripping postwar crime novel introducing Grant Kirby in a taut, atmospheric mystery. Clay Richards crafts a sharp narrative of murder, betrayal, and suspense as Kirby unravels a case wrapped in deception and danger. With a flair for noirish dialogue and intricate plotting, this early title stands out among mid-century American detective fiction. Very good in a good unclipped dust jacket, showing moderate edge wear and rubbing with a few small chips; bright red and yellow jacket design remains vivid. A scarce first edition.
