Ten stories from the popular pulp "Ten Detective Aces". the detectives that appeared during the height of the magazine, that period from 1932 to 1936, were Hard-boiled, Avengers or a mixture of the two-- a tribute to "Black Mask" and the first great avenger, The Shadow.

Mass Market Paperback. Condition: Good. Kunstler, Mort (illustrator). First Edition. Paperback Original. Lion Books LB130. All the stories had originally been published in Justice magazine in 1955 and 1956. The front cover has some surface creasing and the text block protrudes a little at the right edge. The covers have been cut oddly so that the spine design runs over onto the rear panel. The spine is a little worn with some edge rubbing and chipping at the bottom where there is a one inch crack next to the front cover. The back cover has some surface creasing and marking. The edges of the text block are a little uneven but the binding feels secure. Two light marks to the inside of the front cover, a small closed tear to the edge of page 121 and a small stain to page 65. Browning to the pages which are otherwise unmarked. First printing. Postage charge will be reduced by £1.50 when the order is processed.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Uncommon title. Inscribed by the author (Widmer) to a fellow geologist Doug Smith inside on the first title page and dated 10/30/64. Blue cloth hardcover with gilt lettering and map end pages. Illustrated. Light shelf wear; previous owner's name sticker and address written inside. Kemble Widmer was the State Geologist of New Jersey from 1958 to 1980. Widmer was a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and was an Adjunct Professor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He was a well-known expert on U.S. Revolutionary War history and gave hundreds of talks on the subject both as State Geologist and after retirement. Signed by Author(s).
