Richard A. Weinstein, Richard S. Fuller, Susan L. Scott, C. Margaret Scarry and Sylvia Timmons Duay document a settlement occupied from the Late Marksville period, when Hopewell-related cultures flourished in the Lower Mississippi Valley in the early centuries A.D., through the Late Mississippi period of the centuries before European contact. The volume presents the field excavations, site plans and artifact analyses, with an extensive ceramic typology covering Marksville Stamped, Baytown Plain and the incised varieties that anchor the region's chronology, alongside faunal and botanical studies of the site's subsistence. Illustrated with black and white photographs, maps, diagrams and pottery vessel reconstructions, it is a primary source for the archaeology of the Yazoo Basin and the levee-district cultural resource work of the 1990s. Archaeological Photography Team; Technical Illustrators; Ceramic Analysts (illustrator). Signed by Author.…
