Hardback. Richard Prebble never fails to capture the imagination. a very good read.Richard GriffinA wonderful book on the comedy of government — and how imagination and common sense can make all the difference.Jane Clifton, Sunday Star-TimesRichard has a genius for action - and this book shows it.Sir Roger Douglas, ACT founderA cogent, and often very funny account of how this country was saved from economic disaster.Roger Kerr, Business. RoundtableThis book is beyond politics — he sees the facts for what they are. It's a great commentary on the fiasco that politicians and bureaucrats allowed to develop. Excellent stuff!George Balani, Radio PacificWhen he was in full oratorical flight in the house, Prebble matched Muldoon and Lange for wit and vituperation. With Muldoon gone and Lange going, l've been thinking . wouldn't it be fun to have Richard back in Parliament?Margaret Clark, Professor of Politics, Victoria UniversityWe must stop Richard before he thinks again.Pam Corkery, Newstalk ZBCover photography: Bobby ReyesSeaview Publishing, Box 6860, Wellesley St, Auckland 1996, Fourth printing. Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. About this Item There is a neat flowing hand signature by Tretchikoff and inscription next to his frontispiece portrait: "To Margaret with my sincere best wishes. V. Tretchikoff 19-12-52". Very good condition, clean and tight, in gold titled white leatherette boards. in a very good slipcase decorated with the Dying Swan print as a raised plate on the front. The inside board and the first four leaves have a tiny fully repaired hole . Inscribed to Margaret ("Peggy") Roscoe, who, after her Cape Town years, lived near Hartley, Southern Rhodesia ( now Chegutu, Zimbabwe ), but socialised with Tretchikoff on numerous occasions, including canasta sessions with him and his wife at their splendid mansion in Bishopscourt, Cape Town. Her iconic painting Crayfish Seller, which she bought prior to 1952, was later exhibited in Durban with her permission in 1959, and became one of the subjects of the artist's many and profuse lithographic reproductions, all iconic monuments to mid century "kitsch". She later made a Christmas card of her painting on a raised plate, a scarce original of which is also for sale by us at the time of listing. Inscribed by Author(s).
