Cecil Street was a British author who wrote under the pseudonyms of John Rhode, Miles Burton, and Cecil Waye. He was a prolific writer, producing four detective novels a year for thirty-seven years. 'The Paddington Mystery' marks the first appearance of Dr. Lancelot Priestly, a character who eventually features in 72 of Street's novels.
