Buff-coloured cloth with pictures in black and white to front and spine. 140 x 197 x 43mm. 255pp. 6 illustrations called-for, only two of which (the last and the frontispiece) are present. Spine-ends a little scuffed, with 2cm tear at left-hand hinge; cover otherwise clean; some foxing to fore-edges; largely clean internally, though f.f.e. has previous owner name and address in pencil, and p.17 has pencil scribble. First Edition. Inscription from previous owner. Very good copy in the original gilt-blocked cloth. Slight suggestion only of dust-dulling to the spine bands and panel edges, with some sun-toning. Condition: Very Good. First edition hard back binding in publisher's original illustrated sage green cloth covers, black title and author lettering to the spine and to the front cover. Thick 8vo. 8'' x 5½''. Contains 288 printed pages of text with colour frontispiece and 4 full-page monochrome illustrations throughout. Hint of foxing to the text block edges and in very Good clean condition, spine not faded, no dust wrapper. SIGNED by the author to the front free end paper 'With love from Walter, July 17th 1925.'
