Front hinge/endpaper area weakened and partially split, though boards remain attached. Previous owner inscription to front endpaper: "David Lionel Thomas, University College Cardiff," together with old pencilled notation/price. Scattered foxing and age toning internally. Text remains readable and usable. A substantial early 20th-century mining reference and an important later edition of Foster's principal work.
