Condition Report Externally Spine fair condition gilt title on a black label, 5 gilt edged raised bands, significant loss to the leather in the compartments, worn top and tail with loss. Joints poor to fair condition rubbed and worn, the front joint is cracked in places, the rear joint is also cracked at the base. Corners fair condition bumped and worn. Boards fair condition half leather and marbled paper boards, blind stamped fillets, some loss to the leather in the top right hand corner of the upper board. Page edges good condition top edge darkened, all tanned and foxed. See above and photos. Internally Hinges poor to fair condition the front hinge is cracked in places the rear hinge is predominantly intact. Paste downs good condition plain, lightly tanned with some foxing. End papers good condition plain, lightly tanned and foxed. Title good condition lightly tanned with minor foxing. Pages good condition lightly tanned and foxed throughout. This includes a full edit by Milner's brother, Isaac Milner, and a new continuation by John Scott in 1826. In this work, Milner provides a comprehensive history of the Church from the days of the apostles until the famous disputation between Luther and Miltitz in 1520. This particular edition has been edited, with a continuation to the present time by the Rev. Thomas Haweis, a Church of England cleric known as one of the leading figures of the 18th century evangelical revival. Bound in full straight-grain morocco. Endpapers renewed. Externally, very good, with some rubbing to the extremities and joints, and a few marks. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a touch age toned, with the odd light mark. Ink inscription of R. J.
