About the book >.>.> The Reader will find here a comprehensive History of Dymock, from about 1,000 years ago until the present day, illustrated with interesting photographs and plans and adorned with the Coats-of-Arms of the families who have been connected with it. Both what has changed and what has remained during the course of centuries are clearly shown. The kindliness of the people of Dymock and its great beauty have always existed and will endure forever. The main changes are in the kinds and methods of agricultural production and in the buildings. These have steadily improved. The writing of a book like this involves a great deal of time and labour. Many other books and documents have to be consulted. Many Maps, Plans and Deeds have to be examined before anything can be written down. Mr. Gethyn-Jones has done all these things with great devotion and here is the result. This History is written in a most scholarly and precise way, and I hope it will have the grea.
