Condition is VG+: very clean with the occasional spot or smudge, text completely unmarked, pages very mildly tanned, binding strong & straight. First published in Sept…1953; this the 6th Impression from Mar. 1944. In 694 pages with Index in rear, line drawing illustrations throughout depicting mid-century girls engaged in various activities. "This is My Book" page in front has been partially filled out by previous owner, recording her entry into the Scouts in Sept 1944 & achievement of Second-Class status in Nov. 1945. Her name & those of other girls appear all over front & rear endpapers, some stamped but the majority in pencil (we never erase marks of these long-ago readers!). Small 8vo (5.5" x 8.25") has publisher's green cloth over boards, with yellow lettering & design to front & spine. Condition is Good: solidly bound, though spine is cracked in rear index creating a slight shakiness. Both hinges secure. Generally quite clean with the random spot or smudge, a few pencil notations/marks in text. Exterior shows mild rubbing to extremities, heaviest at spine tips & all corners; no DJ, as issued.
