Hardcover. Frontis (illustrator). 1st edition. VG book, no DJ. These letters, precipitated by death of Emerson's son, "poured forth here.(Emersons) . philosphy". The last section of this small book is a statement of the importance of these letters in the context of Emerson's philosophy. According to a Professor Ralph Barton Perry of Harvard. Two flaws: all corners slightly worn but: bottom 2in of spines chipped away. Very Good book, no DJ. VG+ inside. Reed was Corners grandson.
