Paperback. Condition: As New. First Edition. Unread and unopened! (Hard to list as 'New' when it's 31 years old). 63pp. Front bottom corner bump. See photo. The author tries out Hitler's furniture in the lobby of the US Army's General Walker Hotel (formerly the Platterhof) on the Obersalzberg outside Berchtesgaden, Germany, where it sat for many years. It finally disappeared in 1991, replaced by very ordinary stuff. Ray Cowdery has devoted over 40 years to the study of Third Reich militaria, much of the past 15 years in Europe. He has had the opportunity as a museum professional to handle and examine firsthand a great deal of the very finest authentic militaria of the period. As a businessman he has been able to visit factories around the world and ferret out the people who make and market the fakes. Out of a strong conviction that collectors should know both sides of the militaria story, Cowdery has written this book. As an author Cowdery is perfectly aware that this book will be difficult to distribute and sell. Those who make the market for spurious militaria of all periods will condemn this book and do all they can to see that it is read by as few people as possible.
