Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition Thus. A fine and readable memoir of the cult of the "professional assassin" in colonial India. Another sterling examplar of the The Folio Society production standards, bound with pumpkin sailcloth over boards, gilt-lettered author name and title to spine, sharply and distinctly, with black-stamped illustration to front board upper. Housed in a simple, paper-covered slipcase that has done its job admirably. The Folio Society began as a membership-based book club but then expanded its range to publish multiple titles in fiction and non-fiction; science fiction and fantasy; biography and autobiography (from the publisher's web-site). Previous owner's ink-stamped name inside front and rear flaps, that of H. Baldwin-Price. 15 illustrations including at frontis and throughout. Map endpapers front and rear. [6], 7-372 [1] pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
