Lettering wearing off spines and there are chips to leather. Corners bumped and edges dented and worn. Paper boards rubbed. Corners must have had leather tips, now missing. Ink inscription on a front endpaper in vol. I. Ink number on title verso and stamp on first leaf. Also an ink stamp on title page of vol. 2. Front free endpaper missing in vol. I. Rear endpapers of vol. I have residue from labels. French text. Title continues: "Collationnées pour la premiére fois sur les éditions originales accompagnées de notes nouvelles et ramenées a une orthographe qui facilite la lecture bien que chosie exclusivement dans les anciens textes par MM.
