A short collection of patriotic, anti-Communist verse in honor of the anti-Communist senator from Wisconsin. The poems were written by Francesco "Frank" X. Ranuzzi, who along with his wife Florence, were the proprietors of Poor Richard's Book Shop, a right-wing bookstore based in Los Angeles (and later Hamilton, Montana). Poems include "The Death of Joe McCarthy," "The Call to Arms," "'The Cry Is Peace!'," "A Plea from Vorkuta," "King George III," "The Bird of Prey" (in four parts), and "Epitaph for Republican & Democrat."
