No obstante, el libro se centra la fase posromana, donde se percibe la configuración de un importante asentamiento amurallado. Los estudios ponen de relieve la relevancia económica, social y política de este lugar, que debe ser entendido como un centro de poder en el marco de las transformaciones que sufrió la Meseta del Duero durante los momentos postimperiales.
