Encuadernación de tapa blanda. Condition: Muy bien.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Illustrated by (dj) Batchelor (illustrator). First Edition. (lacking the original dust jacket, but encased in a professionally-made facsimile reproduction of same; see 2nd image posted with this listing) [moderately shelfworn, upper corners bumped, small light stain on rear cover, one-time owner's ink notes along edge of rear pastedown (date of purchase, annotation regarding a Sherlock Holmes reference in the text, and his assessment of the book's "delightful wit + humor")]. Comic murder mystery that appears to be somewhat of a cross between Agatha Christie and P.G. Wodehouse. A Vicar invites his Bishop to dinner, the two get into a heated argument over some trivial matter, and the Vicar, "stung to sudden fury, felled his right reverend guest to the floor with a sherry decanter." And then things get wacky: "Aided by his wife, a woman of iron nerve, he put the body in a trunk and bore it away by train. But the trunk went awry, and when the Bishop, who was merely stunned, recovered consciousness in a lady's bedroom, things began to happen." Apparently nobody ever made a movie from this book, but darned if I know why.
