8vo (160 x 245 mm). 96 pp. Lithographed in Urdu throughout. Contemporary patterned paper wrappers. A mid-19th-century translation from Persian of the Qayamat-nama (transliterated variously as Qiyamat and Qeyamat). This poem tells the story of the Resurrection from the Qu'ran's Surah al-Qiyamah. - Lithographic printing, later replaced with typesetting, reproduced and imitated the Urdu manuscript tradition, but produced books an order of magnitude cheaper than a manuscript. Widely available to the populace, Urdu lithograph books ranged from medical and scientific topics to poetry, bawdy stories, and religious texts. - Edges of wrappers repaired. Leaves toned as usual, with marginal chipping not affecting text. - OCLC 1285687185, 191110176.
