Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 2nd Edition. Going back to my recent efforts to list some poetry books as a thematic group please find another. This book is titled: Miracle of Flame written by Pvt. Weston McDaniel. This small hard cover book (6 ? x 9 ? inches 38 pages) appears to have been privately printed by the author as the Keesler Field Edition and the Second Edition of the book. The Author s Word of Appreciation reads: My gratitude goes to the many friends both Officers and Enlisted Men of the Army Air Forces Technical Training Command for their faith and encouragement which made this volume possible. There is a very loquacious Foreword by Lucia Trent and the illustration for the frontispiece was done by Sgt. James L. Tupper. The book is bound in red cloth with silver gilt titles on the cover. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The hard covers are very presentable although there is some minor loss of color to the finish on the rear board and a very thin band of sunning to the leading edges of the covers. There has been some minor bumping to the upper corners. Inside there is a short gift inscription which may have been done by the Author; it is signed Mac . I know the former owner was a poet as well and often traded works with other poets. Otherwise, the interior pages are bright white and clean throughout without toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
