Book has light rubbing and smudging to covers, light edgewear, about an inch of chipping to parchment paper on tips of spine, a large chip along spine edge, a small bump to the bottom of spine, chipping and tears along corners and edges (to be expected with this sort of parchment), toning to textblock, textlbock partially seperating from spine backing, spine crack along page 65, though binding is still firm.otherwise book is in good condition. Pages are clean and bright with beautiful pochoir tipped-in color plates, sturdy binding, and a decent spine.

Des Grieux comes from a noble and landed family, but forfeits his hereditary wealth and incurs the disappointment of his father by running away with Manon.
