Powell's diaries were first published in Scribner's Magazine. For this volume, the journal is edited & introduced by Don Fowler. Book, includes drawings & illustrations by Powell's contemporaries, and augmented w/ a 48-page gallery of 4-color photos from photographer Eliot Porter (1901 - 1990) who, since the 1940s, used Eastman Kodak's new dye transfer processes for color photography.
