The Second edition, extensively revised and enlarged by Dinsmore, is a publication of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of the American University of Beirut (Natural Science Series Number 1). The first edition written by Dr. Post was published in 1896. This edition is in two volumes: Volume I, dated 1932, text figures numbered 1 - 406 as b. w. line drawings throughout, pp. xxxxiii, 658, orig. paper cover bound in at rear. Volume II, dated 1933, text figures continue from numbers 407 - 774, pp.928, 5 maps of the Syrian Desert followed by the original paper wrapper bound at rear, includes index first in Arabic followed by Hebrew then a comprehensive General Index. Both volumes identically bound in full green morocco with raised bands and git title to spine. In very good condition, other than small loss to margins of front 3 pages in vol II from worm damage, and some water marks affecting lower edge of first 20 pages also in volume II. A very smart set.
