Cet ouvrage retrace, à partir d'un ancien fond photographique incluant 250 plaques Lumière 18x24, la contruction du canal de Jonage par la Société Lyonnaise des Forces motrice du Rhône. Ce canal de 19 km est une dérivation du Rhône, pour alimenter une usine hydro-électrique à Villeurbanne, et pour faciliter la navigation fluviale en amont de Lyon. Ce chantier, qui dura de 1894 à 1899, marqua un changement d'échelle dans l'industrie hydro-électrique française. Le chantier fut qualifié à l'époque de "Panama Lyonnais". Langue: Français.
