Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Limited Edition. 1909, Limited Edition - no.481/500. Octavo. 6" x 9" approx. 348pp. Frontispiece. Original two-tone cloth, gilt ruling and titles. Binding square and firm. Some fading to top edges, minor rubbing to head and tail of spine. Former owner heraldic bookplate to end paper. Top edge gilt, minor foxing to other edges. Clean within. A 'Very Good' copy.

New edition. New (3rd) edition, revised & completed to date in light & dark blue cloth with gilt; frontis with yellowed tissue guard. No.515 of an edition limited to 550 copies (500 for sale). Some foxing; dark blue cloth faded at board edges; spine worn & scuffed, with dull gilt. Enclosed is the publisher's receipt, dated August 1909, for payment by Sir Paget Bowman, who was in the 1867 race for a copy of the book Used - Acceptable. Fair hardback Used - Acceptable.
