1st Edition. Numbered, 4434, Limited Facsimile Edition of the original 1900, Paris Imprimerie Nationale Limited Edition, 23.5 cm x 28.5 cm (9.25 x 11.25 inches) published by Edito-Service S.A. on thick paper (papier bouffant) by Casteljoux. Verlaine's bohemian and erotic book of Symbolist poems in French, Parallèlement, are exquisitely accompanied by Pierre Bonnard's wispy and ephemeral red chalk drawings. This edition in two volumes includes the text and drawings in volume one (139pp), while volume two, entitled "Suite Des Reproductions Des Lithographes" includes all drawings 'hors textes' (unnumbered). Both volumes are in immaculate/fine condition as well as the portfolio enclosure, the slipcase alone showing some very mild scuff marks. An inspired pairing of verse and graphic art with a bonus 'hors textes' volume available for mounting and framing Bonnard's red chalk drawings if so desired. A wonderful collection.
Dessins de Pierre Bonnard. Roman traduit du danois par Gaudard de Vinci. Troisième Édition. Editions de la Revue Blanche, Paris 1898. (6)+244+(4) pages. Bound untrimmed with the original wrappers in a marbled paper binding with spine title in leather. * Scarce. Bonnard has made the illustrations for this book by the Danish author Nansen. The book was published in Danish in 1894, but was translated and published in French in 1898. This third printing is made the same year as the first printing - and it is most likely Bonnard's prints that made it a sales success.
