This copy has no jacket. The buckram cloth binding is in a mustard yellow, with a Deco design and titling. First edition. Printed in England for Boni & Liveright by the Oxford University Press. A stunningly beautiful version of Aesop's fables, with Art Deco illustrations by Phyllis Trery. Excellent typography and design touches framing the pages enhance the presentation. Each illustration is a full page and apparently pochoir colored, with broad strokes of color building up basic outlines. Very good copy, spine label rather abraded, otherwise quite fresh. Gift inscription dated Colorado, 1926 on the front free endpaper. Notably, the cover label in this copy is a bright iridescent green, not plain white as seen in some other copies, and much more in keeping with the artist's palette.…
