Contemporary green cloth rubbed with some staining; spine slightly cocked; spine ends and board corners bumped/frayed; some flaking/dulling to spine's gilt lettering which remains easily legible. Text block edges toned/soiled;…some leaves roughly separated at fore-edges with associated tearing/chipping at margins. Three line ink inscription by George Little (1838-1924; Confederate Army officer, Mississippi state geologist, Georgia state geologist, etc.) at top of front free endpaper; interior foxing/toning and some staining. Two quires pulled but remainder of text block is firm.
