First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Acceptable. First Edition. Acceptable copy of the first edition of what was seemingly the first book by Florence LaGanke, food editor of the Cleveland Press for almost thirty years, in addition to writing the "Nancy Pages" quilt column, amongst other such efforts (from her entry in The Quilter's Hall of Fame). Illustrations by W. Prentice Phillips throughout, including bright color frontispiece. One page has separated (p. 253-4), but remains with book; no others seem at risk of following it. Save this, binding remains sound, if a bit loose. Staining to spine, beige cloth boards and text block, the latter broaching many pages by about 1/8" around top corner, length varying; a few pages stained more extensively, including the woefully separated page and its nearest friends, which appear to have fallen victim to the a splatter from the making of its recipe, "College Fudge," though it is not sticky in any way. Corners and ends of spine bumped and fraying. This copy has clearly been used over the years! Interior is free of previous owner markings. Ships same or next day from Dinkytown, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
