Softcover. Condition: Gut bis sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 160 pages, numerous illustrations - Principally working with salvaged materials, Cherokee Jimmie Durham--poet, writer and visual artist--makes tongue-in-cheek assaults on the enduring colonial foundations which are firmly anchored to the base of Western culture. Durham, an…activist in the American Indian movement in the 1970s, can sum up his artistic and political process in his will to "be so surgically specific it becomes universal." This small-format, compact publication presents more than 100 images of Durham's installations, which are enhanced by a series of essays by critics and essayists on the themes surrounding his work.

Softcover. Condition: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 183 pages - The Serpentine Architecture Program expands for 2016, with four Summer Houses joining the Serpentine Pavilion. The Pavilion, designed by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), is an unzipped wall that is transformed from straight line to three-dimensional space, creating a dramatic… structure that by day houses a café and by night becomes a space for the Serpentine's Park Nights performance program. Kunlé Adeyemi's Summer House is an inverse replica of Queen Caroline's Temple;a tribute to its robust form, space and material, recomposed into a new sculptural object. Barkow Leibinger were inspired by another, now extinct, 18th-century pavilion also designed by William Kent, which rotated and offered 360-degree views of the Park. Yona Friedman's Summer House takes the form of a modular structure that can be assembled and disassembled. Asif Khan's design is inspired by the fact that Queen Caroline's Temple was positioned in a way that would allow it to catch the sunlight from the Serpentine lake.

Hardcover. Condition: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 168 Seiten/pages with 130 color & 45 bw. illustrations. - Over the last two decades, alongside his better known sculptural work, German artist Thomas Schütte (born 1954) has created watercolors and drawings of his acquaintances and friends, as well as numerous self-portraits (such…as the Mirror Drawings). These drawings are often created in series, as Schütte approaches the same subject over and over, obsessively covering all angles and methodically exhausting the possibilities. Schütte s drawings directly inform his sculptural portraits, which are created in a similar spirit. With 130 color reproductions, Faces and Figures offers a selective, themed Schütte retrospective, surveying these portraits and other works on paper, as well as ceramic and bronze sculptures--including the impressive Vater Staat (Father State), a towering steel figure that despite its scale appears frail and isolate.

Softcover. Condition: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 128 pages - Wolfgang Tillmans has been redefining photography and the way it is presented for over 20 years. From his seemingly casual images of people and objects in the early 1990s, reflecting the culture and identity politics of the time, to the deeper exploration of abstraction… in his more recent work, pushing the boundaries and definitions of the photographic form. This catalogue, arranged and designed by Tillmans himself, brings together the whole range of his oeuvre in all its diversity: portrait, landscape, and still life photography alongside abstract and random pieces, colour-saturated works, and experiments with process, forming a kind of meta art work, with a rhythm and logic of its own. I try to approximate the way I see the world, not in a linear order but as a multitude of parallel experiences. Multiple singularities, simultaneously accessible as they share the same space or room . This selection of works, presented here in full colour, often on double-page spreads, includes many new pieces. The theoretical and historical context of Tillmans art are tackled in detailed essays by Michael Bracewell and Josef Strau and an interview with the artist by Julia Peyton-Jones and Hans Ulrich Obrist provides a fascinating insight into his life and work.
