These papers were read at a Plenary Conference for librarians in the USSR in 1950 because of the directives of the Congress of the Communist Party's fift…h Five Year Plan concerning libraries.The first work (no 2) is about the prevention of aging of books and newspapers by Yabrova. : about insects in book storerooms, and disinfestation measures by Petrova and finally the control of mold fungi on books by Rybakova. Instructions are then given. The second work (no3) by mainly the same authors is about Ageing of paper and restoration:softening and restoring leather book bindings: mold fungi on books and their control and finally,insects and insect control in book collection. Aside from recommending the use of DDT against insect infestations, a lot is still relevant. Size: Large Octavo.
