Frank Perrycostes Gleanings from the Records of Zephaniah Job of Polperro was first published in 1930 following a series of articles in the Cornish Times. Zephaniah Job was the 'Smugglers Banker' who financed the smuggling and privateering trade that flourished in Polperro during the later part of the 18th century. Perrycostes findings amount to one of the most comprehensive studies of life in Cornwall in the late 18th and early 19th centuries providing modern historians and students of the period with an invaluable source of information.
