Book has a forward lean, tips and spine ends bumped but not rubbed. 147pp text tight and bright with top edge dyed blue. Uncommon, original, un-clipped (and un-priced on flap, but 6/- net printed on spine), tan background dust wrapper illustrated in navy blue titles and four horses on frt panel, and a chap walking away on the spine. Jacket shows handling soil and wear at head of spine which took the first line of the letter M in Melka, but now in new mylar and displays well. Born in the wilds of Sudan, Melka is an Arab pony who has many thrilling adventures in desert and jungle in the author's first book. This, the second offering tells of Melka's further adventures in England, where she leads an even more exciting life than during her early days in the Sudan. The tale is told with the same knowledge and love of horses that characterized the earlier volume, and readers young and old will burn the midnight oil following the ponies varied career including foxhunting, working in the big top at a circus and hauling a Gypsy caravan.

Original, un-clipped tan dust wrapper illustrated with brown drawings and green titles shows one half-inch closed tear at foot of frt panel, one quarter-inch closed tear at head of same, a short wrinkle at head of spine. Slight darkening along backstrip and gutter areas on both panels. Jacket now in new mylar and displays very well. A silky-haired black Cocker puppy, full of mischief, with an appealing eye and busy tail-wag for his friends, and a good hearty bark and bite for his enemies - this is Daniel, whose adventurous first year of life is described here.
