This book is mainly about Doc Holliday, produced with the help of his relatives, which include one of the authors, Susan McKey Thomas. The subtitle of this book is "The Story of Doc Holliday and his Holliday and McKey Families". I spoke with Susan several times when I was researching my book, "Wyatt Earp Speaks" and she was kind enough to send this book to me. The book was originally published in hardcover in 1973 and there was a second printing, but both sold out quickly and became rare. When I contacted her in 1997, the Lowndes County Historical Society had just printed a limited edition for their annual history dinner. Only 50 of these comb-bound books were printed and that's what this one is. It is inscribed to me and signed by both authors. There is some minor wear or superficial damage to the cover that makes the cover a bit rough in spots, but other than that it's in very good shape. It has 13 illustrations and a one-page addendum as an update to the original book. This rare book will be a valuable addition to any western collection.
