Soft cover. Condition: VG. 13pp extract, salvaged from a damaged copy of the Bulletin Of The American Geographical Society Of New York 1895, Vol 27, No. 1. A proposal by Robert E. Peary's wife to scientific and historical organizations to contribute money or effort toward an expedition to Greenland to retrieve Peary and his 2 assistants, who chose to stay behind when the rest of the expedition of 1893 was released for return to the United States as severe weather had prevented the party from carrying out its mission. Includes transcriptions of various letters from relevant persons. The second part is an update during the expedition, and includes mostly a letter from Mrs. Peary. This item pre-dates Peary's earliest book publications. Housed in protective mylar report cover.
